Presence, the Present, a Present.

Focus on God’s presence in the present! Do not let yourself get distracted by future concerns or past regrets.

That is sound advice.

How often do you find yourself distracted by future concerns or borderline obsessed about past mistakes, failures, or successes? Do you find yourself focusing on the would haves, could haves, should haves that continually suck the life right of you? What about those achievements and successes that suck the possibility out of the future life in you? It seems like a lose vs lose situation. I am guilty of both.

The, if only, have or have nots consume me to the point of inability to move forward or even dream of something better. The remember when, that for a moment is full of sweet memories but quickly reminds me how things have changed. They are not necessarily bad changes but different. With time and experience my responsibilities and life focus have changed and my life, though wonderful, when looked at through the lens of romanticizing the past can leave me feeling dejected and worthless.

We all have a past. Let us help one another realize our past does not define our future. Jesus gave all so we could live life to its full in community with him and each other. Do not allow Satan to steal your joy and rob you of the life God designed for you.

Take control of your future by kicking your past to the curb. Do not give past mistakes, challenges, or successes a seat at the table.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind! 2 Tim 1:7

Keep looking up focusing on God’s presence in the present and you will receive the greatest present.

In Jesus’ name, Amen <3

Your Friend, Rho
