It is true that when this fallen, broken world gets you down, feeling thankful and blessed can be hard. Feeling sorry for ourselves comes too easily.
On this Thanksgiving Day, I am thankful for my salvation, friends, and family. I am grateful for the opportunity to share with all of you.
It is a beautiful life to have the freedom to choose thankfulness. I know that it is not always easy to be thankful but if you begin each day with an attitude of thankfulness, it will train your mind to see whatever comes your way with an open heart, and being thankful will come naturally.
We are all given the most amazing gift in free will. The ability to choose is something that seems so simple yet can be so difficult when we choose how to respond to situations. Especially those situations that do not go our way.
That is my challenge to myself, and to you today. Let us look to being thankful. Thankful for all the things in our lives, whether big or small.
Let us be thankful for our failures, as they are life experiences that will teach us. Let us be thankful for our successes for they are opportunities to share what we have with others.
As we enter the holiday season, let us not forget our true purpose in life. We are not here for ourselves, but we are here for each other. Let us focus on lifting each other up and not tearing each other down. Let us build a world that we can be proud of through truth, love, and compassion for one another regardless of our differences.
Feeling thankful for all of you.
God Bless.
Your friend, Rho.
